Symposium on the 50th anniversary of the death of Hanns Eisler

The conference will focus on a critical assessment of research trends to the present day and the outlook for future study of the work, life and aesthetics of the composer.
Areas of particular interest include:
– Analysis (methods, models, problems)
– Reception (performance, scholarship, politics)
– Eisler’s position in the history of 20th century music
The conference languages are German and English.
