The New Mexico Studies area, as part of a larger conference on popular
culture, seeks papers pertaining to the cultures, history, and image of
New Mexico as reflected in popular and mass culture, broadly construed. 

Possible topics MAY include:

Popular Religious Practices
"Aliens" in Roswell
Images of Native Americans
Tourist Practices and Economies

Los Alamos and the Bomb
The Nuclear Landscape
