"New Worlds in Thought, Place and Time"


The South East American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies invites
proposals for papers and full panels on all aspects of the "long eighteenth
century" for the 26th annual meeting of the Society.  Papers and panels may be
on new aspects of the world as conceptualized or envisioned by the eighteenth
century or new light cast on the eighteenth-century world by twentieth century
scholars, Topics that cross disciplinary lines are especially encouraged;
those less directly related to the conference theme will also be
considered.

Graduate students may compete for prizes to be awarded for the  best papers
presented.  Contact the program chair for further details.

The conference hotel is The Mulberry, a renovated historic building in the
heart of old Savannah.  Special events include a plenary address on Southern
Gardens by Jim Cothran, a Reception and Exhibition at the Georgia Historical
Society, Walking Tours and noon organ concerts.
