American Handel Society
College Park, May 2000

    The American Handel Society will hold its 2000 Conference at the
University of Maryland, College Park, in conjunction with the Maryland
Handel Festival on May 5-7. The featured performance of the festival will
be Handel's SOLOMON and the conference sessions will focus on the topic
"Susanna, Solomon, and Baroque Representations of Nature." 

	The Society extends a call for papers pertaining to (but not
restricted to) the featured topic and work. Proposals that take an
interdisciplinary approach to the relation of Handel's works to the other
18th-century arts and sciences are especially welcome. Applicants should
submit a proposal of not more than 500 words to:
