The American Handel Society will hold its 2000 Conference at the University of Maryland, College Park, in conjunction with the Maryland Handel Festival on May 5-7. The featured performance of the festival will be Handel's SOLOMON and the conference sessions will focus on the topic "Susanna, Solomon, and Baroque Representations of Nature." The Society extends a call for papers pertaining to (but not restricted to) the featured topic and work. Proposals that take an interdisciplinary approach to the relation of Handel's works to the other 18th-century arts and sciences are especially welcome.
