in the United States
October 11 - 13, 2001

The conference, sponsored by the Bakhmeteff Archive of Russian and East European
Literature and Culture of Columbia University and supported by the Slavic Division
of the New York Public Library, will bring together literary scholars, historians,
librarians, archivists and members of the general public to discuss the written

history and holdings of Slavic collections into the overall history of the
American society as well as into the history of the Russian-American cultural
heritage.
