Burleigh,' April 2-5, 2003, sponsored by Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, with
daily sessions at Edinboro University, and evening concerts and workshops at Erie
(Burleigh's birthplace), Meadville and Edinboro.  The conference features
lectures, lecture recitals, singalongs, workshops and evening concerts by the
McIntosh County Shouters, tenor William A. Brown and soprano Louise A. Toppin, and
the Morehouse College Glee Club.  Our keynote speaker is Dr. Samuel A. Floyder,
Jr., Founder and Director Emeritus of the Center for Black Music Research in
Chicago.  our conference hotel is the Avalon Hotel in Erie, and the conference
