Medieval Popular Culture
San Antonio, TX, April 2004

The Medieval area of the Popular Culture Association is now accepting abstracts for
the Thirty-Fourth National PCA Conference, April 7-10, 2004, in San Antonio, TX.

We seek 15-20 minute papers on:

medieval popular culture, including for example: music, saints' lives, oral
traditions, charms and folk remedies, wall paintings, clothing and jewelry, and so
forth;

*and*

modern popular culture uses of medieval literature and history, for example: the
writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, Umberto Eco or Connie Willis; films like "A Knight's
Tale" or "The 13th Warrior"; revivals of mystery plays; medieval re-enactments, and
so forth.

100-200 word abstracts are due November 15, 2003. Your abstract should be sent to the
