Annual Conference
University College Cork, 6-8 May 2005

Call for Papers

The Society for Musicology in Ireland will hold its annual conference at
University College Cork on 6-8 May 2005. The conference will reflect the
diversity of local and international music scholarship by welcoming
submissions in the fields of musicology, ethnomusicology, music analysis,
popular music studies, film music studies and related areas. Throughout
2005 the city of Cork celebrates its tenure as European Capital of
Culture. In recognition of this unique creative environment, scholarly
papers will share the programme with a mini-festival of performances and
exhibits.

The keynote address will be presented by Lawrence Kramer, Professor of
English and Music at Fordham University.

Proposals for 20-minute papers on any music-related topic should be
submitted via e-mail to Christopher Morris (c.morris@ucc.ie) by 18th
January, 2005. Proposals should be in the form of a 250-word abstract.

The programme and information on accommodation and registration will be
