University of Birmingham Elgar Conference 1-3 July 2005


In 1905 Edward Elgar was appointed Peyton Professor of Music at the
University of Birmingham. To celebrate the centenary of this event, and
the centenary of the Music Department, the University is hosting a series
of events devoted to Elgar, including a conference. The full conference

The conference will take place at the Shakespeare Institute,
Stratford-upon-Avon and the Elgar Birthplace Centre, Broadheath,
Worcestershire. The keynote speaker will be Patrick McCreless (Yale
University).
