MENDELSSOHN IN THE LONG NINETEENTH CENTURY, 15-17 July 2005

The provisional programme and the registration form for the Conference
Mendelssohn in the Long Nineteenth Century, Trinity College, Dublin, 15-17
July 2005, are now available for download at

Papers will cover a large array of topics related to Mendelssohn reception
during his lifetime and his posthumous reception up to twentieth century,
and aesthetical and cultural issues. Keynote addresses will be given by
Leon Botstein (Bard College), R. Larry Todd (Duke University) and John
Butt (University of Glasgow). There will be concerts at the College Chapel
with the Mornington Singers and Andrew Johnstone (organ), and in St
Michael's Church, Dun Laoghaire, with John Butt (organ).


The conference, organized by the School of Music, in association with the Department
of Germanic Studies (Trinity College Dublin) and the Society for Musicology in
Ireland (SMI), will be held at the Hamilton Centre, Trinity College Dublin, from
Friday 15 to Sunday 17 July 2005.

The keynote addresses will be given by Leon Botstein (Bard College), John Butt
(University of Glasgow), and R. Larry Todd (Duke University).

Accommodation for conference delegates will be provided on campus, just two minutes
walk from the Hamilton Centre.
