Fourteenth Biennial Symposium of Research in Music Theory

Bloomington, IN, February 2006


--Deadline reminder: Paper Proposals are due by December 1, 2005--

The Graduate Theory Association of Indiana University is pleased to
announce its 14th Biennial Symposium of Research in Music Theory to be
held February 10-11, 2006.  Our keynote speaker will be David Lidov of
York University.

We are now inviting proposals related to any musical topic, including, but
not limited to, issues of musical meaning, music perception and cognition,
ethnomusicology, history, performance, and analysis. Individual
presentations should not exceed 25 minutes in length.

Submissions should include:
(1) a 300-500 word proposal 
(2) a cover letter listing the author's name, address, telephone number, 
e-mail address, and affiliation, as well as all required equipment, such as 
piano, overhead projector, CD player, etc.
(3) an abstract of no more than 250 words, suitable for publication in the 
conference program
