Crossing Borders: Transpositions and Translations in Russian Culture
Third Fitzwilliam Conference in Russian Studies

Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, Wednesday 29 August to Friday 1 September 2006


The Third Fitzwilliam Conference in Russian Studies (in conjunction with
the Dept of Slavonic Studies at the University of Cambridge) will be held
at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, from lunch on Wednesday 29 August to
lunch on Friday 1 September 2006.  (The two previous highly successful
conferences on 'St Petersburg 1703-1825) and '450 Years of Anglo-Russian
Relations' were held in 2002 and 2003.)

RUSSIAN CULTURE. Papers are invited in the following areas: a) one genre
inspired by another b) representations of one medium within another c)
re-interpretations of cultural texts across time d) transpositions and
reception of cultural texts from other cultures.

There will be 24 papers of 20 minutes each, organized into four panels.
