Claude Debussy International Congress

University of Texas at Austin, October 25-29, 2006


The School of Music and the College of Fine Arts at the University of
Texas at Austin would like to invite you to the Claude Debussy
International Congress from October 25-29, 2006.  Lectures will be
presented by scholars from Europe and the United States each day, and
performances of Debussy's works will take place each evening.  Invited
speakers include: Elliott Antokoletz, James Briscoe, Kenneth Caswell, Mark
DeVoto, David Grayson, Denis Herlin, Roy Howat, Robert Orledge, Jann
Pasler, Marie Rolf, Richard Langham Smith, and Marianne Wheeldon. 
Concerts include a piano recital by Roy Howat, an evening of chamber music
featuring the Miró Quartet, and the U.S. premiere of La Chute de la Maison
Usher, completed by Robert Orledge and performed by the Butler Opera
Center at the University of Texas.
