Leeds International Music Technology Education Conference 2006: Music Production Education

The Leeds International Music Technology Education Conference is one of
the leading events of its kind in the UK. LIMTEC provides a forum for the
promotion of best practice in music technology based teaching and learning
in Further and Higher Education, through the dissemination of the latest
research in the field and consideration of practical strategies for
teaching various skills and techniques.

The event will offer lively debates and stimulating presentations as well
as addressing issues of the place of music technology within the broader
context of the performing arts sector, research and professional
communities. The programme will include keynote speeches, panel
discussions, presentations and workshops from industry practitioners and
gigs.

Call for Papers

The conference committee invites proposals for papers relating to the
conference theme of 'Music Production Education'. Possible topics for
consideration may include:

Pedagogical models for teaching Music Production

Producing pop

Music Production and genre

Authenticity and studio practice

Production analysis

Creativity in music production

Critical approaches to studio environments

Recording practice as research

Industry partnerships and knowledge transfer

Live sound

Vocational vs. academic training

Career pathways for music production graduates

Creative approaches to remixing

Individual presentations should be no more than twenty minutes in
duration. Proposals should take the form of a title followed by an
abstract of no more than 200 words. Deadline for submission is Friday 15th
September. Decisions will be notified as soon as possible after this date.
