"Is This It All?": Questioning Received Truths in Music

Call for papers

The University of Toronto Music Graduate Students' Association is pleased
to host our annual conference March 16th and 17th, 2007. This year's
conference focuses on the act of questioning in all fields of musical
inquiry. Papers may explore new areas of research, or revisit old ones. We
encourage submissions from graduate students in musicology, theory,
education, performance, and composition. We welcome proposals for
lecture-recitals in addition to conference papers.

Participants and attendees of this year's conference can take in a
performance of Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia, from which the
conference takes its name, by the Faculty of Music's esteemed opera 
program as part of conference activities.
              
Please submit a proposal of no more than 500 words by 2 February, 2007
