CALL FOR PAPERS

University of Edinburgh, Music Department

An opportunity for PhD music students to present and promote their
research to the public.

Friday 1 June – Saturday 2 June 2007

The Music department of the University of Edinburgh welcomes proposals
for papers on a broad range of topics relating to musicology,
organology, acoustics, semiotics, composition, music informatics, music
and medicine (and psychology), and sound design. Individual
presentations should be limited to 25 minutes in length, although
special requests for longer presentations will be considered.

Abstracts of papers (a maximum of 250 words) and a biography (no more
than 150 words), together with a list of audio-visual equipment
required, should be sent to Joséphine Yannacopoulou
(josephine_ed_music@yahoo.co.uk) by 16 March 2007. Abstracts received
after 16 March 2007 will not be considered.

The language of the abstracts and presentations will be English. Papers
should be delivered in person at the conference by the named author.

Submissions will be considered by the Program Committee. Applicants
whose submissions are accepted will be notified by 31 March 2007.
Accepted abstracts will be placed on the Music Department’s website <http://www.music.ed.ac.uk/>, where information about all aspects of the
conference will be maintained.
