Symposium: Percy Grainger at 125

Melbourne, December 2007

To celebrate 125 years since the birth of Percy Grainger, the University
of Melbourne will be hosting a one-day symposium on Friday 7 December

This symposium will provide a forum for the presentation of new
perspectives and possible areas of study in relation to Percy Grainger and
his music. Papers that reflect on issues raised in the Grainger
scholarship of the past half century are also encouraged.

If you are interested in presenting a 20-minute paper (plus 10 minutes
discussion time) at the symposium, please forward a 200-word abstract and
brief CV by Friday, 8 June 2007. Speakers will be notified within two
weeks of this deadline.

Proceedings from the Symposium will be published.

The symposium will be held at the Ian Potter Gallery at the University of
Melbourne, and will coincide with a major exhibition on Percy Grainger. A
reception and concert will also be held in conjunction with the symposium.
