CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The College Music Society
Weekend Workshop
Teaching Women and Gender in World Music
February 5-7, 1999
Agnes Scott and Spelman Colleges

Proposals relevant to the workshop subject of women and gender in world
music are sought for participation by those attending the workshop.
Proposals might include lecture-recitals, mini-recitals, work in progress,
syllabi, student assignments, pedagogical approaches, reading materials,
audio-visual materials, internet resources, etc.

A complete proposal should include:

1. a brief bio of all persons involved in the proposal (two paragraphs
maximum) that describes the background and experience relative to the
proposal and includes institutional affiliation (where applicable),

2. a description of the proposal (one page maximum),

3. audio-visual requirements,

4. a cassette/CD recording or video tape (in the case of lecture-recitals
and mini-recitals),

5. and any necessary supporting materials.

Presentations should be timed to last no more than 15 minutes.

NOTE: ALL PERSONS WHOSE PROPOSALS ARE ACCEPTED MUST PAY FULL
REGISTRATION/TUITION FEES.

Three copies of the proposal should be sent with the Proposal Cover Sheet
(see below), POSTMARKED BY NOVEMBER 30, 1998 (NOT sent by FAX) to:
