For our upcoming meeting at the Sheraton Old Town, ALBUQUERQUE, NM, February 24-27, 1999, the Southwest\Texas Popular & American Culture Associations Conference seeks papers on the Kansas Region: * Kansas in Literature or Literature from Kansans * Kansas in Film * Kansas Journalism * Kansas in Pop Culture * Kansas-focused Creative Writing * Kansas Education and Kansas Educators * Kansans Famous, Not-So-Famous, and Infamous * Kansas Native Cultures * Kansas History * Kansas Artists and Kansas in Art * Kansas Folklife and Folklore * Kansas Sociology * Kansas Anthropology * Kansas Geography * Kansas Politics * Kansas and Religion Scholars, teachers, professionals, and others interested in Kansas encouraged to participate. Graduate students are also particularly welcome with award opportunities for best graduate papers. If you wish to form your own Kansas-focused panel, I would be glad to facilitate your needs. Also, if your work does not focus on Kansas but fits within the broad range of areas designated for the upcoming conference on Popular & American culture, I still encourage you to participate. I have included with this call for papers our flyer, which provides more explicit details about the conference. Proceedings to be published on CD-ROM.
