The Department of Music, SUNY at Stony Brook, in conjunction with the
Greater New York Chapter of the American Musicological Society, invites
paper proposals for a conference devoted to the issues of how or whether
concepts of postmodernism apply to musical creation in the late-twentieth
century. Proposals may address any type of music with respect to specific
or general issues surrounding the postmodern debate. The conference will
include 2-3 paper sessions, a keynote speaker, and an evening concert
performed by the Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players. 

Paper proposals should be a maximum of 250 words and should be submitted
without the author's name.  An accompanying cover letter should include
the title of the paper and the author's name, address, and email address.
Papers should last no more than twenty-five minutes.
