FRINGES OF ROMANTICISM University of Glasgow One Day Conference April 10, 1999 Proposals are invited for papers of 20 minutes on the theme of fringes of Romanticism. This conference wishes to explore the genres, figures, topics, and art forms outside the conventional confines of Romanticism and Romantic studies. Sample topics could include Romantic drama, such as Blake's Edward III; children's literature, such as Godwin's Fables; women writers, such as Maria Edgeworth; or poets, composers or artists who are not integrated into the canon. We also welcome topics that discuss the debate surrounding the canon. Abstracts of 300 words should be sent by 25 January 1999 to Michael Heyman or Chantelle MacPhee, Department of English Literature, University of Glasgow, Glasgow G12 8QQ, U.K. Email submissions are acceptable and can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. There is a fee of £15 for all conference participants.
