David Perez and his epoch
October 21-23, 2011
at Aveiro Museum, Aveiro, Portugal.
The 300th anniversary of the birth of the Neapolitan composer (1711-1778) provides an opportunity to celebrate a key figure in the history of Italian opera and one of considerable importance for the history of music in Portugal.
The conference “David Perez and the music of his epoch” aims to discuss the composer’s role in the places where he was active, as well as his contribution to the music of his epoch. Listening to the music in question, through concerts given by participants, forms an integral part of this event.
