“Marcos Portugal on the 250th anniversary of his birth”

The 250th anniversary of the birth of the composer Marcos Portugal (Lisbon, 1762-Rio de Janeiro, 1830) provides an opportunity to celebrate a key figure in the history of Portuguese and Brazilian music.
The Conference “Marcos Portugal on the 250th anniversary of his birth” aims to open discussion on the role of the composer in the places where he worked, as well as his contribution to the music of his time.
Deadlines and conditions for the submission of proposals
Papers should have a maximum duration of 20 minutes. They may be given in Portuguese, English or Italian. Proposals should include the title, summary (maximum 250 words), author’s affiliation and biographical note (maximum 100 words). The deadline for these is 8 de January 2012, and they should be sent by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Proposers will be notified with regard to the acceptance of their proposals by 20 January.
