Med&Ren Music Conference 2013

Extended to March 1st 2013


The 2013 Medieval and Renaissance Music Conference will be held in Certaldo (Florence,
Italy), from Thursday, 4 July, to Sunday, 7 July by the Centro Studi sull’Ars Nova Italiana
del Trecento (
Certaldo is a charming little medieval town in Tuscany, between Florence and Siena, and
close to San Gimignano. It has very good road and rail connections with Florence, Siena
and Pisa (which has an international airport).

Call for Papers

The organisers and the Programme Committee invite proposals for Free papers, Round
tables, and Poster presentations on any topic relating to the study of Medieval and/or
Renaissance music. Special sessions will be dedicated to the topics “Boccaccio and music” on the 700th anniversary of his birth and “Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa and his time” on the 400th anniversary of his death.

Proposals of any kind should consist of a title and an abstract of c.200 words, together with the proposer’s name, institutional affiliation (if any) and email address.

Along with the text please send also a short CV (max. 15 lines) and indicate the A/V
equipment required. The paper should not exceed 20 minutes (corresponding to an 8-page text containing to a maximum of 16000 characters). No more than one abstract may be submitted.

Proposals for Free papers, Round tables, and Posters should be sent to the e-mail address or – by mail – to the Centro Studi sull’Ars Nova Italiana del Trecento, c/o Ente Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio, via Boccaccio 18, 50053 Certaldo (FI), Italy (please indicate on the envelope “Med-Ren Certaldo 2013”) no later than Friday 15th February 2013. The deadline for submissions has been extended to
March 1st 2013.

Acceptance of Free papers, Round tables and Posters will be notified by Monday 15th
April 2013.
