Workshop: Reconstructing Sixteenth-Century Polyphony (RECON 3)

The Tudor Partbooks project is running its third weekend workshop dedicated to the polyphonic reconstruction of the missing tenor book from Baldwin Partbooks (GB-Och: Mus979-83). This will take place in the Music Department at Newcastle University on 11-13 March 2016.

The event is open to second- and third-year undergraduates, postgraduate students, interested amateur participants with training in harmony and counterpoint, as well as interested observers.

Friday 11 March, 2.00pm-5.00pm: John Sheppard and Robert White (Magnus Williamson, Newcastle University);
Saturday 12 March, 9.30am-1.00pm: William Byrd (Andrew Johnstone, Trinity College, Dublin);
Saturday 12 March, 2.00pm-5.30pm: Luca Marenzio (Marina Toffetti, University of Padua);
Sunday 13 March, 10.00am-1.00pm: William Mundy (Tim Symons, Early English Church Music).
