Date: 17 March 2020
Venue: Senate Rooms, Durham Castle, Durham, UK
The planning committee of Music Theology Durham would like to invite you to join us on 17 March 2020 in Durham, UK. This joint venture between the International Network for Music Theology, Durham University Music Department, and Music Theology Durham seeks to promote and heighten awareness of the academic study and praxis of music theology. The study day will be held in the Senate Rooms at Durham Castle, Durham.
Our keynote addresses will be delivered by Prof Tom McLeish (Professor of Natural Philosophy, University of York) & Prof Steve Guthrie (Professor, Theology & Religion and the Arts, Belmont University, USA). Additional presentations will address development in publications of music theology, a participatory singing session, and The Durham University Music Department’s Postgraduate Seminar Series. The closing panel discussion will focus on ‘The State of Music Theology’. There will be an opportunity to attend Evensong at Durham Cathedral after the panel discussion.
Registration for this event is free. Please visit https://musictheologydurham.weebly.com/ for the study day schedule and registration.
