Many of you are familiar with iFIMPaC and LIJEC and have made substantial contributions over the past 20 years. We are now taking the next step in which iFIMPaC and LIJEC becomes part of a 5-day event. In addition to iFIMPaC, there will be days dedicated to innovations in contemporary classical music, popular music and jazz so please feel free to redirect this email to those who will be interested:
International Festival for Artistic Innovation
Leeds College of Music is pleased to present the launch of the International Festival for Artistic Innovation (IFAI) that will take place on 10-14 March 2014. IFAI will act as an umbrella to embrace a diverse range of music making and practice-led research. Established annual events, iFIMPaC and LIJEC, will form part of the Festival along with developments dedicated to contemporary classical and popular musics. IFAI looks to the 21st Century and recognises the importance of interdisciplinary and collaborative practices for the arts. It will bring together concerts, presentations, interactive workshops and masterclasses that reflect music production, jazz, contemporary classical music and popular music (composition, performance, production and pedagogy in both their ‘distinct’ forms and as part of interdisciplinary arts practice).
You can find the full details about submitting papers, illustrated lectures, music and interdisciplinary projects here. The deadline for submissions is 1st October 2013.
